Drink the darkest red wine for better skin.

First of all, I am a huge wine fanatic. I love the taste, the experience, the look of wine. It’s safe to say I’m a bit of a wino. I’ve known for a while about the benefits to my heart health, but I never knew too much about how it could help my skin.

A little while back on the Dr. Oz show, he explained how drinking wine can be one of the best things you can do for your health. You may also already know all about how red wine in particular is good for your heart, but did you know that it can be one of the best anti-aging weapons for your skin?

Red wine is loaded with numerous antioxidants that are good for your skin. Dr. Oz states, “The dark skin and seeds of the grapes are rich in polyphenols, a type of antioxidant that includes resveratrol. They protect cell membranes and have anti-inflammatory properties.” So, in short, many of the extra ingredients in all your store bought creams are already naturally found in wine.

Not only that, but the polyphenols also help protect the skin from damaging UV rays and help keep your skin supple and elastic. He goes on to say that “it also strengthens the cross-linking of collagen, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Studies also show that people who drink red wine have fewer cancerous skin lesions.“

Wow! With all that said, go ahead and drink up! But remember, one to two glasses at most will do!
